More Dachshunds...!

Firstly, congratulations to @CreativeDoodlez for winning the festive Hallmark competition! Daniela's winning artwork was just fab... the colours she used work just brilliantly to create a gorgeous piece of fun artwork - festive, without using the obvious christmasy greens and reds! You can see the winning artwork here.

Today, I have been finishing the latest exercise for the illustration course I am doing. More Dachshunds!!... The idea is to create a page of sketches of an animal of your choice...

Then, another page of doggy doodles, but this time showing more character, more fun and picture book like...

Finally, I had to work on one of these images to create a final piece of artwork...

I think I will change the colour of the background, not sure this works - a bit too waaa!

This is an exercise which will go with my next submission titled 'The cow who went looking for a friend.'.. It will be about a cow who finds friendship with a little bird and the story reveals what they find out about the world around them as they travel around together.

I have a few ideas, watch this space!

I hope it will not be too long before i submit this piece, as we are about to move back to the UK (wup!) but I will potentially be with out all my important arty things and computer for a few weeks, eep!

Dachshing!

I recently started following Hallmark Creative Studio UK on twitter and was perusing their website when I came across their Festive competition. It closed at midnight that day, so I quickly got to work. I have been drawing Dachshund dogs as part of an exercise for my course so decided one more wouldn't hurt ;) (They are so cute with their long bodies and short stumpy legs aw!)

Et voila, a pastel drawing of a Daschund in a rather fetching Christmas jumper. :-) I also decided to submit the drawing as a repeat pattern for wrapping paper.

Wish me luck!

Their website is great by the way, worth a visit.
